CSV Media Upload Format

Overview

Save time and effort by uploading multiple media files at once. Instead of adding each YouTube link or audio file individually, you can use a simple CSV file to import them in bulk.

This feature is perfect for when you have a list of media you need to add to your Speak account, helping you organize and manage your content more efficiently.

How It Works

You'll create a CSV file that lists the media you want to upload. Each row in the file represents a different media item, and you can specify details like the media's URL, its name, and which folder it should go into.

Getting Started

To access this feature, go to Upload > Select CSV Upload in your dashboard.

Format Specification

Your CSV file needs to follow a specific format to ensure a successful upload.

Header Row: The first row of your CSV file must be a header row.

Columns:

  • url (Required): This column must contain the full HTTPS link to your media.

  • name (Optional): You can provide a title for your media here. If left blank, the system may use a default name.

  • folder (Optional): Specify the exact name of the destination folder for this media.

Examples

Here's an example of how your CSV file should look:

url,name,folder
https://youtu.be/xyz123,Webinar A,Webinars
https://example.com/audio.mp3,Interview B,Interviews

Troubleshooting

"Invalid Header": This error usually means the first cell in your CSV file is not exactly url. Please ensure the header row starts with url (lowercase is recommended).

Pro Tips

When saving your CSV file, choose the "CSV UTF-8" option. This will help preserve any special characters in your media titles.

Next Steps

Ready to get started? Here's what to do next:

  • Login to your account and navigate to Dashboard β†’ CSV Upload.

  • Prepare your CSV file following the format specifications above.

  • Upload your CSV to import your media in bulk.
